Antique Signed Painting

    This is another painting from my storage,very old,nails on stretcher.I tried to get close up pictures of name.So faint.Maybe one can show enough for someone to know who the artist is.Measure 28"x16".     This is the best I can do. Perhaps wipe the signature with something damp and then take a photo before it completely dries?

    WOW!! GOOD JOB!! :) I think that could be him.
    The OP's may be an earlier painting, perhaps prior to this stylization?

    I see crackling on the OP's brown painting. Looks like a sign of age, but life in a storage unit may have been unkind at some point.

    The styles are so completely different I really wonder. The OP's painting looks like furniture store art.

    Yes, I believe it is furniture store art too. From the first few decades of the 20th century. Not an uncommon subject (although quality of execution varies.)

    I have no idea but looking at some of his other paintings, it looks like he used many different styles and techniques in his decades of painting and teaching.
