Screenshot_20211011-225925_eBay.jpg Hello, can anyone help me out. I have this brooch, initially I thought it was a kilt plaid, however it's too small measures 4cm. Does anyone know what this is?

Just a decorative brooch, very popular from the late 19th century onwards, I see a lot of them here in the UK. Lots of English middle class visited Scotland in the summer and also during grouse/hunt season and bought items like this while there. Earlier ones are commonly unmarked like yours, which is probably late 19th/early 20th century from the looks.

Interestingly although silver was required to be 925 in the UK some of the early ones can be of a lower grade, so possibly made elsewhere and imported, or some Scottish makers were using 830 silver. The stones are also commonly glass (hand cut) as well as citrine/cairngorm/smoky quartz/agate.

It's more properly in the style of a plaid pin, not a kilt pin. Kilt pins are generally like huge safety pins. Agree on date. The Victorians were mad for all things sort of Scottish.

The difference between a plaid pin and a kilt pin:

The kilt pin is a more recent development, when the separate kilt and shoulder plaid developed from the original 'belted plaid' Highland dress, a long single piece of cloth:

The women's equivalent is the '(e)arasaid', which usually reaches down to the ankles.
