Can anyone help age a couple rockers? I will try and upload pictures later but for now I can't compress them enough. They are solid oak and held together with flathead screws. Is there any other unique manufacturing methods that would help date them that I can look for?

Well... I have tried everything thing I can think of to compress any one of the pictures to the 1mb limit with no luck. Is there any way around this 1mb cap?

Resize the pictures to 600x800; it's easier on a computer with photo software. Doing it from a phone...not so much.

I do it with Paint. There is an option to resize photos :)

These are mission style from about 1910. Look for markings underneath and on the back seat stretcher. Also one company marked theirs on the underside of the arms. Most such pieces have very modest value these days but certain makers have a following and bring a good premium.

Hi and WELCOME, @B.m.t.!!! There are plenty of free re-sizing apps out there for phones as well if that's easier for you! NICE job getting them up though!!! Could you also use the "make all images FULL SIZE" button too??? MANY THANKS!!!! NICE rockers as well!!!!:):)

Yep, i am goin with Brad on this one. Well known makers of Mission still go for big bucks like Stickley, Limbert, Roycroft etc but as brad says, that's an exception not the rule as there are many unknown makers who manufactured this style.

One reason i think some Mission still sells very well is, almost every town in America has neighborhoods with 1900-1930 craftsman style bungalows and this style furniture fits in very well in that setting.

Thanks for all the help. I'll try and look for any makers marks tomorrow.

Generally speaking, your well known makers mostly used mortise & tenon construction, not screws so much.
Another thing is, the cushions on their chairs would be leather.
Here is a Limbert Morris rocker, notice the cushions (probably new leather) and construction details on chair arms

The only information I found on the padded rocker was a corner of a label with handwritten 278 and typed N.Y. I assume that is the lot number and location.

Yeah, that's probably right. I don't see any exposed mortise & tenon joinery on your chairs either so not good as far as value goes.

By "exposed" mortise & tenon do you mean by design, or that the you didn't see any weak joints that exposed this type of joint?

Yes, by design. The joinery is celebrated & exposed as a decorative feature of Mission style furniture.
