Featured Antique Purple Four Sided Necklace Identification

I’m looking for any information on this necklace, age, type of metal or stones, if this style of pendant has a specific name, etc. An image search doesn’t bring up any matches.

It is 4 sided, all 4 sides are the same other than slight variation in darkness of the stones. It is a heavy piece.

Seventies Victorian revival based on a watch fob design.

 

How long is the pendant? I also thought it might have started life as a watch fob. The scrape visible in the last photo suggests glass rather than amethyst.

 

What Bear said. The chain is 70s without a doubt, and the pendant construction matches the chain for date.

 

And thirded. Which means you will have to wait another fifty years for it to be antique. The pendant is nice though.

I’ve some similar earrings, which my Pa bought me as a birthday gift some time in the seventies. It was the Victorian revival counterpoint to all our edgy sixties angular stuff and later sharp tailoring. I wore both, being a totally split personality.

 

Or a jewellery omnivore.
