May be "drink chips." People with a liquor bar at home could have these made up. Exactly how they were used, who knows. May have been used in a game too. Safe bet they were ordered by F.C.H. Jr.

Odd....if they were poker chips...made to order....a poker chip holder would have been mandatory !

( the photo's are not mine, but I've got both holders....)

No idea on value....but if I were buying chips like these...( & I'd love em for poker..) , I wouldn't want some guys name on the reverse ...or the box....unless my name happened to be Francis Christian Hollingsworth Jr. ..........

If you are getting rid of these, I would put them on Ebay with an opening bid you are comfortable selling them at. Might be good to let the market decide.

Hard to say how they will do price-wise. There was a monogrammed set of Backgammon chips that went over $200, but maybe two of the bidders had the initials on that particular, set "B.W.", and maybe Backgammon is more desirable. In general a monogram is a negative on antiques, but maybe it adds a bit of charm to this set or at least doesn't hurt value. I saw other sets selling as low as $14.99. I'm not sure what these particular chips were used for, but they seem to have some age from the style of lettering and overall look. Guessing they might be from the 30's-40's. One unique feature is that they are two-toned bakelite, with the white strip in the middle. I didn't see a single other set with this feature, so if you sell, be sure to point that out.
