I bought these from the older couple that owned the house before me. My wife wasn't a fan of them, but I thought they were really cool. Would like to know more about them. What they are worth or Amy history related to the dishes. It is a full set of bowls with spoons. Tea cups and tea pot with saucers and plates. Idk how to upload pictures of someone could help with that. I know they would be necessary in answering any of my questions.

Lot of contention about that 羅森 "Luosen" or "Lawson" mark. Some think Japanese. Some think Chinese. Some think older, 1930s or so. Some think modern.

I'd be inclined to think 1950s or so Japanese. But that's just an inclination.

I need to look through all the pieces. I know at one time I saw on one of them and it said made in China. So that's why I assumed it was Chinese made.

I know it's real metal in lay because when I first got them I had no dishes and put one in the microwave and it sparked. Didn't ruin anything because I immediately turned it off. I assumed they were a knock off before that happened.

Well that continues the dispute haha. I'll check again to see if it was actually on that set. Any idea on the worth of a full set like this?

When I see things like this I think of things servicemen brought back for mom in the 1950s after being stationed in Japan, things mom put up on the top shelf of the closet, in the original packing, and kept there.

Point is, even 50 years ago folks didn't really have much use for sets like this. Much better to buy one very nice than a whole set of nice.

Probably so. My wife can't stand them, but I think they are cool. So they are going to be my man cave dishes one day.
