Carbon steel blades & (probably) plated handles, one with a single mark within a wee dimple: a right-facing head with either a Mohawk haircut or a helm with similar hair or feathers on the crest. If I can capture that very tiny mark, I'll add it to this thread. The long one is 10 1/2" with a 6" blade; the other is 9 1/2" with a 5" blade.
These are, in the exaggerated sweep of the blades, much like a set of six shorter table knives I have...I'll try to find an' picture them here.
Is there a name for this blade pattern? Can it reasonably be placed in the 19thC or late 18thC?
The one thing I am almost confident about is that they're European...but I come here to learn, please! Thanks for lookin'!

The longer one is a carving knife for beef, the shorter one for "Birds."

If the handles are plated, they are unlikely to be earlier than 1850, but those handle designs look 20th century to me.

I am a certain that at least the shorter one is American because I know I have seen that handle pattern and not infrequently. Now if I could just find it.

Where did you get the idea it was European?

Ignorance along with misplaced sense of 'foreign' design...there isn't anything 'American' about that shape...to me.
