Probably new circa the earliest birth date on the bottom. What would that make it?

That's about what I would have guessed. So not an antique for another 21 years.

The wood wheels indicate it's probably pre-WWI and the design would point me straight to the 1870s. It has however been refinished at least once.

Agree with an 1870s date. Style is Renaissance Revival.

I agree with what the style is and when it would have been in vogue, but the shiny metal of the castor mechanism looks much newer than I would have expected for that age.

    Hi,
I wonder if the wheels have been replaced? Most of the Renaissance Revival furniture I have seen have had porcelain wheels.

Perhaps the family cradle was redone in 1940 for the new baby?

Possible, and maybe even more times than just then. Looking at the pictures I would never have thought it to be as old as the style suggests. Replacement of the castors could be just one of any number of things changed over the years.
