Antique Cast Iron Piggy Bank

I purchased this at a thrift store recently, it was reasonable, $8.00. I tend not to buy cast iron stuff because of the knock offs from China. This pig however looks to be truly vintage. The bank measures about 5" long and 3" tall. I do not know if the paint is original, but it looks like it was hastily done. Piggy comes apart into 2 pieces with what looks like a vintage screw. I was hoping someone could help me with an idea of when this was made and maybe a manufacturer. The expression on the pigs face reminds me of the political cartoons from the early 1900's.

 

I haven't unpacked it yet, but my dad had an identical one as a child. He was born in 1913. This Etsy listing says it was made by A.C.
