    Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum. I own a consignment shop on Grand Cayman, in the Cayman Islands. Recently we received two antique cabinets on consignment. Unfortunately they are in rough shape so I will be looking for someone on island to help restore them. Can anyone give me any information on these pieces in the photos below. I know very little about their origins, date of manufacture, etc.

Looks like the upper fits on the lower, correct? Possibly a (Victorian) Renaissance Revival piece made in the style/form of a Court Cupboard.

That is correct, the upper pieces of both fit on top of the lower cabinets. Thanks for the info. Any idea as to where a piece like this could have been made?

The one looks like it has an airplane on it so would be first quarter of the 20th century. The other could be a tad older. I believe Western European in origin. France, Belgium, etc. Walnut and of nice quality. I don't see too much wrong with these.

Welcome Owen. I enlarged your photos so we could see them easier.

They are called Henri II style furniture.
And come from France. Every middle class house had them in the late 19 th and start of the 20 th century.
Never saw one with a plane on it, however! I like it very much.
They can be found at very low prices since more then a decade or two...
Take a look at the "troc" shop's on line.

Many are decorated, or simply painted white or grey.
Many are destroyed as well, because very hard to sell, here.
