    Hello All,

I recently purchased an antique buffet from an estate sale. The owners of the items in the sale were not available to ask any questions regarding the history of the furniture. Does anyone have any idea of the age/manufacturer/value of this buffet? I can tell you the piece is very heavy with veneer drawer fronts. It came with two keys and both work. The only markings are the XV on the back of the sliding compartment.

To me it looks like a 1960s-70s piece. Lovely. I bet it weighs a ton.

Is that press board & plywood ?
    I'd venture 80's or 90's...

Yes, it’s solid. One of the heavier pieces of furniture I’ve moved.

It’s all wood. I know the drawer fronts have a wood veneer. The back is painted/stained all black.

Agree. Piece is pretty modern. Think some kind of import from the last 40 years.

Very good quality repro. Might be from my side of the pond.

Were the sliding areas just for secret document storage?
