Hollow silver plated dog head with ball and chain.
    Non magnetic.
My first impression was it might be a cape or cloak fastener but it is very small, unless it was for a childs garment.

Its certainly an odd one, it obviously fastened to something with those 3 loops, maybe like a master button.

I'm thinking the ball & chain could fit thru a vest button hole to counter balance the weight of what ever the puppy....( or Lion..?) was attached to....

just a thought .......as this thing has me in it's grasp..!

but having seen that written down....i'm 2nd guessing...

I was fine until I saw the three loops. Could it have been sewn onto a waistcoat and the ball went through a buttonhole? I'm grasping here.

I cleaned it up a bit with some autosol metal polish and it would appear to be silver and not plate.
    No marks anywhere.

The head piece to a chatelaine? I know most have more than 3 attachment points but have seen some with only 3.

A lady at York a couple of weeks back saw it in my display cabinet and said it was most definitely a cape/ cloak fastener.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I'm thinking that looks more like a St. Bernard (?) than a lion....at least some kind of a dog.....maybe for a child's cape??
