My mom had this table for as long as I can remember. It was given to her by an old family friend who was a cabinetmaker and who loved and collected antiques. I've recently become the caretaker for it, have no plans of parting with it, and was hoping to learn more about it. Any thoughts on the age or type of wood? The top has a 16 inch diameter, the table sits 21 inches high and the base is 12 inches wide. Thanks. tilttoptableA.jpeg tilttoptableB.jpeg tilttoptableC.jpeg tilttoptableD.jpeg

Since no one has responded, I'll take a stab. Appears to be a legitimately old table. Wood is mahogany. I think a 19th century example, rather than 18th. Two board top and rather plain legs preclude this from being an earlier example. Metal bracket on bottom is a typical repair for such tables. Out of my leauge as to whether this is American or an import.
