Another guilloche watch frame

Following up on @wlwhittier's post. I was going to just add this photo but decided to make a separate thread.

Purchased this last week for $5, last day of a sale. Passed over by everyone, I pondered it for a while, figured I could put a photo in or repurpose. It just looked like a quality piece even with the damage on the bottom front corner, etc. decided to get it.

I guess the watch case (with broken crystal) is still partially there.





When I was posting this photo just noticed the frame had writing.


Sterling, Maker's mark with an R in a rectangle.



What age would this be? Any ideas? Thanks.

P.S. Sorry for the poor photo of the mark. I was just taking a photo of the back and only later realized I had taken a photo of a mark!!

I always had a vague feeling the back of this was sterling, but thought it was wishful thinking.

Amazing you could ID it with the less than perfect photo.
