Another Donation Today Can Anyone Identify Please?

Hi,

Here is another donation, somebody had gone to the trouble to have this hung professionally which made me take a second look, does anyone recognise the markings on the second picture?

The pheasant theme looks Japanese. The maroon stamp with gold border is often seen on early 20th century japanese wares, but your plate looks more modern than that to me.

I would guess no more than 40 years old give or a take a bit. I looked on gotheborg.com for the mark, but didn't see anything similar.

Some of the examples that I'm seeing are being described as Kutani so that may help you search.

 

When you say it's hung "professionally" what do you mean? It's a plate.

 

It has the wire form on the rear for hanging plates on the wall...
