As promised (after finding a file compressing program) I will post some of my Anglo Indian collection, starting with one of my favorite boxes.
This Hoshiarpur box dates from the 19th c around 1880? (it's very hard to tell) It's in wonderful condition with no missing inlay. Made from sheesham wood with Ivory and Ebony inlay and brass fittings.
    It's size is 45cm x 30cm x 21cm making it quite large. DSCF2221 (Medium).JPG DSCF2222 (2) (Medium).JPG DSCF2223 (Medium).JPG DSCF2224 (Medium).JPG DSCF2225 (Medium).JPG DSCF2226 (Medium).JPG

They aren't the highest quality made boxes but it has a lovely feel. Still it must have taken some time to inlay the 1000's of bits of ivory and ebony.

raver, that quality is good enough for me. But don't hold back if you want to post better quality boxes;).
What makes it specifically Hoshiarpur style?

Hoshiarpur is where they have been made from 1700's and is now the generic term for such wheres, if you have a table or bookcase from Hoshiarpur that dates to the 1700's or early 1800's they go for £100,000's
I have just posted a "better quality" box lol ....more to come tomorrow (hopefully)

Campaign handles, too. I see modern ones all the time, the nice old ones like this not so much.

Yes they are becoming rare and sort after, that's not good for collectors like me because the price of these has gone through the roof :(

The problem being Anglo Indian stuff is getting expensive, boxes like this are going for £100's, if I buy a better one (at those prices) my wife will kill me :(

Fortunately the practice of selling your wife was outlawed in England in the 1920's (true) before that though it was quite common to sell your wife when times were hard or even if you just wanted another. I suppose women had a point when campaigning for equality :sorry: (I hope that's a shame emoji)
