I have a variety of Andrea Sadek lamps but recently came in possession of one I had only seen once before and had a price tag I thought well too high on it. I couldn't help but purchase my current one even if I think I paid a tad over the actual worth.

The one in question is the Andrea Sadek Tin Chi Gasshopper/Cricket Lamp. Dated at 2001 on lamp along with the Tin Chi print.
Just curious how much I did overpay or if I actually found a nice deal at the price.

Regardless I love the lamp and will be keeping it so I guess even if I did overpay it would be priceless for me.

Welcome, Girl. Sounds like you've answered your own question. We can't possibly without knowing what you paid for it, but I can see why you love it.

    Thank you!
That may be lol. I tend to forget values when I see something I adore and at times that can be unwise in certain situations.

I'm embarrassed if I did pay overvalue but the lady who had it wanted 80.00 and no lower. The one I saw a few years before at a flea market was requesting a even higher price.

As I was searching the the cricket, I saw the crane and heron. They are all very nice.

You didn't over pay, the important thing is, to have interesting things to live with.

Oh, I know how that can happen. I like to think the pieces I bagged at bargain prices offset the splurges, but afraid to do the math. Completely agree with:

I have spent $5000. on a tavern table that has probably lost half it's value or more over the years due to market changes, did i over pay? I don't think so.

Yeah, that's not bad at all. My Grandfather always used to say " You want it? You pay for what they want to sell it for!!"

I look at it this way.
If it is something you want, at a price you are willing to pay and you are going to use and enjoy it, then you did just fine.
Particularly since this is only the second one you have seen in how many years? And it was less money than the first one.
    Enjoy. It's cute.

I'm not Catholic, but I confess, why a Mormon grasshopper?

Because the grasshoppers invaded Utah and were eating all the crops.
Then the seagulls flew in and ate the grasshoppers.
That's why the Seagull is the state bird when they have no oceans.

Or something to that effect. May not have it quite correct.
