Andre Bourgault wood figure signature help?

Happy Saturday all.
I found this 8" carved wood figure and have been doing some research on the very interesting history of this fine wood carving art
in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli Quebec Canada. And The bourgault family was there in the beginning of it all.
This figure has on the bottom the stamp for Andre's shop and the word above Eleve is the French word for Student.
What is interesting that i can't figure out is the pencil signature which the last mane is clearly Bourgault. I can't make out the first name though? I also was hoping to date this piece, i was thinking 1940's?
Was this Bourgault a student?, A relative?
Any help and advice welcome

nice piece Bulldog, I've never seen one with 'student' marked on it
In 1940 the workshop was turned into a school, so maybe that is why it is marked 'student'.

I can't make out the first name - here is a list of family members that were sculptors/carvers, maybe you can match one up to the name on your piece.

I knew I had seen plenty of this style back in New England, but never have had one of my own.
