Ancient Terracotta Oil Lamp

Good Morning, I have one more piece of ancient pottery I would like to share. I purchased this small terracotta clay oil lamp(s) at an estate sale in West Virginia. Outside the claim it is very old and an antique, not much was known about the pottery. Its dimensions are 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. It appears to have an individual carrying a sword (gladiator?). If anyone can please give me an idea where it's from, timeframe, etc... I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

 

Determining what's ancient & what's not accurately from a few photos is a fairly difficult task.Perhaps another member has more savvy on this subject .

 

The style is similar to oil lamps found in Pompeii and Herculaneum (Roman, 1st century). Oil lamps such as this were used throughout the Roman empire. Reproductions have also been made.
