    Greetings

Came across this 22" tall Amphora. It doesn't look Roman or Greek and I don't think it is that old. I am curious as to when and where it is from.

    Best Regards
    Rob

In modern Greek this shape is called "stamna" (στάμνα). It is a vessel for carrying water and was used far into the 20th c. I do not know if the same shape exists in other Mediterranean countries or how old yours is, but I do not think it is ancient.

Looks extremely clean and does not appear to have been underwater.
I believe this was made new rather recently, no idea where from..
