Featured An unknown brooch added into my silver collection

    I don't buy silver jewellery often but this one is so special, any thoughts on its origin and date? Seller said Russian tho 1.jpg 2.jpg

    I can see why you bought it, that enamel is lovely, and only minute damage.:) I also think it could be Russian.
    Could we see the back please? And any marks? Russian silver is usually marked.

    This specific C-clasp, with the lower part of the C curved upward more than usual, is often seen on Russian brooches.

    I'd have figured Russian too. The medallion above it looks like a Lancastrian rose.

    It usually does, but always look at the other features too, they are all clues. In this case I agree with 19th century.
