Am I a jade bowl?

    It's carved stone no matter what, and cost a whole dollar at a white elephant table in a rummage sale. It's definitely Chinese, but I don't know how old, or if the stone is what it wants to be. It's not the really expensive translucent jade, but it wants to be some kind of nephrite.

    That's one of the things I was wondering. Serpentine, soapstone...? Real deal? For a buck I couldn't get hurt.

    Yes, serpentine. I don't think it wants to be anything other than serpentine, it is as serpentine as serpentine can be, so to speak.:pompous:;)

    I'd say either the soapstone or serpentine; price-wise I don't think it matters much.
