Aluminum ceiling medallion

    I have this metal ceiling medallion and am wondering if it anything special. The motif suggests Indian metal craft to me but I'm guessing. Ideas anyone?

    Ceiling rose or boss is another word. I'd think Indian: it has water buffalo and elephants and looks typical of their brass work. I suspect it had a chain through it and a hanging lamp.

    You're sure its not just a platter? I see made in India brass or tinned-brass platters all the time - ceiling medallions not so much. Aluminum would be pretty unusual too (one of your pics looks like brass, the other not)?

    I agree: more likely to be tinned brass than aluminium. Doesn't look flat enough for a platter?
