    Certainly intriguing. Signature bears some similarities but also some differences. I also don't think the work matches stylistically. Back inscription makes me think the piece is more of a tribute piece. Perhaps a work by a student after a piece held by SFMOMA

    What is the red splotch?

    I think the red is to be a seal or the remains off a seal . Here's a close up from the A in the painting and as to be seen looks like made when the paint was still wet . So painting and autograph looks to made in the same session when painted ? Clipboard01z.jpg
