Have have zero experience with antiques so I'm hoping someone here are provide some guidance. My mom moved in recently and she brought with her a rocking/reclining chair made by A.G. Fuller in Grand Rapids, MI. I was able to find the patent (No. 265,593) on the chair from 10/1882 but not much more.

I am posting here because the base is damaged and my mom wants me to repair it. I'd like to have some information on the chair so I can assess my repair options. If there is no value in it, this opens up the opportunity to replace some pieces.

I attempted to post a photo but I'm not sure if it will show up.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome! While I can't help with this actual piece, I can say that if you are searching for information, it would probably be called a platform rocker as oppose to a recliner.

I appreciate it. The patent is for a "Combined Rocking And Reclining Chair". I'm not familiar with a platform chair. I'll Google it.

Agree, platform rocker even though it may recline as well. Not a lot of value to these so modify if you need to.
