hey folks

found this oil today, looked interesting for a fiver

not brilliant, but a little charming

anyone have a clue who the original artist might have been

obviously a reproduction, but id like to find the original to see how good a repro it is

frame measures 18 " by 14

looks like miller ?, on pencil to back

any thoughts appreciated

 

Could be after W Muller, he painted scenes of Morocco as here, can’t find your painting, you might be able to find it if the Mappin Gallery are still in business.

now, how do i get the copied from part of the back

 

He had one painting on exhibit in Sheffield called "Scene in Morocco." (That would be too easy, wouldn't it?) At the Groves Art Gallery and the Mappin Art Gallery.

seems like his original work is not that pricey so not a good sign

Seems there is a wide margin regarding price for his paintings, this one was estimated at £25-35k. Pity it wasn’t an original you found but think you did ok for a fiver.
