African wood mask, is it a tourist item or ulitarian and is it old

    Picked up this African wood mask a week or so ago and been meaning to get it up here I wanted to find out if it' a tourist piece or was it something they would have actually used? Also any best guesses on age is appreciated to. It' 8.5"L x 6.5"W and from what I can tell someone has painted black over where ever it has been broken obviously a different color.     if it were to be worn the inside would be smooth as a babies bottom....

    It's a female Chokwe mask....and looks like the 1970's or 80's tourist variety.

    we recently did a thread on another one....
