African pin?

    Does anyone know what this little guy is? age?

    It's very similar to some inflatable dolls that were being sold widely (I remember them near the checkout counter of our supermarket) in the early 60s. Very non-PC soon after & since.

    My best guess is that this is from the era of extraordinarily racist cartoons about African cannibals. There were many from the 1930's at least into the 1950's, and I recall seeing them in B&W on rainy days at day camp when I was little.

    Disney, among others, made a bunch of them, like the 1930 cartoon "Cannibal Capers" and the 1932 cartoon "Trader Mickey."
