    Hi folks

    something i found today at a jumble sale (this and nothing else :(:))

    ive seen them before, but this one seems a bit better, and havent seen one with the inlay before, but still quite crude

    quick search seems to suggest african, but unsure

    not sure how old

    dogs? tourist piece ?

    measures 13 inches collapsed

    am i right in thinking they must be carved from one piece of wood ?, else how else would you get them interlinked

    any thoughts or info appreciated

    just nicely carved I'd say....expressive.....and ya...one piece of wood !

    these are used to hold a small table top....and the inlay...may be more India..nepal...stuff like that...

    I'm now thinking not Pacific....:sour::sorry::sorry:

    I've seen them sold in import shops as stands for Middle-Eastern metal trays - my Mom had some; they may still be in my basement.
