This bronze bust came from the estate of a NJ collector. He collected approx. 6000 objects, mostly African, NA and Asian. His collection will be auctioned over many auctions, unfortunately he passed without leaving the provenance of his purchases.
I purchased a dozen or so items last night, which I will be posting for ID.
This bronze bust stands 6 1/2", the base 3" at its widest. There is a Christie's East auction label on the inside.
Any help to ID is appreciated, I'm especially welcoming Taupou and Komokwa views.

    TIA Andy

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

Whenever I hear African bronze I think Benin right away.....this one though is a little more unusual....

You may consider finding it thru Christie's , since it's numbered....

That tag was probably put on before 2001 when Christie's East was absorbed by their main NY office in Rock Center. CEH may be initials of their specialist handling that sale.

Thank you Komokwa and thanks spring for the added info, I knew that there was a change. I will send of an email to Christie's and see what I can find out.
