Good morning, I have some items I am going to sell before we move to New Hampshire and would appreciate your opinions of their value. I have included photos.

1}Victorian Stick and Ball Fretwork Spandrel...88 inches wide by 36 inches tall on edges
    2}Woven Platform Rocker
3}Art Deco Lady's curved front vanity with 42" Moon mirror
4}Ice Cream Table and two chairs with original photos on top

I have had these on Ebay but not had much luck. An auctioneer told me they were not worth putting up for auction but I tend to disagree. Is he correct? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If you were selling these 10 years ago they would have bought nice money. The prices dropped out of sight about then. It is a shame since they look nice.

Hi and welcome! My daughter and family is hoping to move to NH in the next few months so hopefully the winter won't affect anyone's moving experience!

I like your items and you will probably get more viewers if you post them in a more specific part of the forum such as furniture or antique discussion. Though enough may pop in to the introductions section to make this good enough. If you choose the option of full size pics it will make them easier to view.

You might include some info such as your region of the country (and country for that matter since I'm just assuming US). Also any venues you have for selling etc as it's hard to guess what option you might have.

    Again welcome!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Welcome to Antiquers!

As say_it_slowly mentioned, you may get some comments here in the intro forum but probably more views in the Furniture or Antiques forums that are lower on the page. Also, many people will not attempt an assessment of value. However, as Greg said, it's well known that the value of "brown furniture" has gone down in recent years. The ice cream table might draw a different sort of interest because it's been redecorated with decoupage (?).

Value is a personal mission and depends heavily upon your locality.

Welcome. Brown furniture will sell a little better in NH than it will in some other parts of the country but still not as high as it did years ago as Greg mentioned. Will you be in the southern part of NH or the more rural north? That also makes a difference.

1.Welcome! 2. That headboard is absolutely gorgeous. The dressing table is great too. I have no idea what they'd sell for, but probably less than they're worth. I wouldn't be surprised, as others have said, if they went for more in New Hampshire.

We will be in Manchester or thereabouts. I think I will just hang onto all these pieces and see what happens up there! Thank you all for your help!

Manchester is good. You can draw people from all directions. Try Craigslist first. There are plenty of auctions in NH but I think you may do better on your own.
