A mystery pendant

    Another from my selection of antiques and antiquities.
    This is silver and has a very distinctive design. At a cursory look it appears south America but I don't actually think it is.

    It is a Hindu protective charm of a God, possibly Shiva, surrounded by lotus petals.

    The colours of the enamel are reminiscent of Multan enamel, made in Multan, now Pakistan. I have never seen a Multan piece with a Hindu motif though, and Pakistan is now pre-dominantly Muslim.
    I did read once that the original enamelers of Multan were Hindus, who fled during the Partition of India and Pakistan. I don't know if that is true.
