    How old is this frame?

Is it old enough and worth it to restore it?

It seems someone has painted at least some of the black parts later on. There's shiny gold colour underneath it when I scrape it off. I don't know if that's the case for all the black parts.

Yeah, it's an ordinary frame. I'm just interested in knowing the age.

Late 19th or early 20th century. Old but not particularly valuable. Doubt it would be worth the time it would take to restore properly. Depends on how much you value your labor and the reasons for restoration.

Well, thanks for the info! :)

It's still a nice frame and to me a good find (it cost a dollar).

You could cut it down to fit something nice and lose the bad parts...

I've found some of my best frames in the trash at g sales and such and simply modified them. :)
Not very old ones mind you. Those I've left alone. :)
