Got to the end of my search on Facebook and continued scrolling...big mistake! Both are damaged but both would be tucked away in my bedroom. Its 10 euros for the jewelry box so might ask if the seller will ship, maybe. I keep having to remind myself that both options of making the table mine, shipping or taking a train, would probably exceed the price of it in the first place.

    Help.:arghh:

Its lovely isnt it? I already have a jewelry box but it may still have to be sent my way :hilarious:

I can't at all figure out when abouts it came into being though

First one looks Italian, post-war, Japanese one is from about 1910

Seeing as I don't have a licence, the answer to that would be no. :hilarious: It's also 3+ hours one way. Train would be doable but probably expensive, sadly.

Yes I was hoping the box was around that, why do you think Japanese instead of chinese? Learning here, the table, why post war vs 19th century? We did some image searching and we found several very similar dating from around there, I can't find the website now.

I've had Japanese boxes like that before, date is approximate based on degenerative quality plus Chinese rarely if ever use asymmetric designs.
The table could be earlier than the post war period but the Interior Decorator fashion for things like that seems very 50's "Antique Interiors" style to me.
Just an opinion though, others may disagree.

Ah interesting! Great tip thank you. I think I shall have to message the seller.

Thank you for the input! Its funny how much styles are 'recycled'. One of the similar pieces we found was Napoleonic and clearly high quality, so 'ours' is a repro, but of what cycle is to be determined lol.
