I have consulted my books and google but can't find anything about AN ladies wearing hair clips in this fashion. Combs yes, clips no. So I thought I'd consult the best book and ask you. I wear these often in summer so would be nice if the answer was yes! Ty all <3

Its not the best image, and it looks to have age, but I don't think I've ever seen a picture of someone of the time with this on. The seller says its AN silver tone.

Thats what it is in french, but I've never heard the actual word in english. It works quite well honestly!

It is beautiful, but I think it could be Art Nouveau style, rather than of the period.

These were big in the seventies here. We called them bun clips or bun holders, I think.

Some of those 'in the style of' hair clasps fetch reasonable prices, and this is a nice one.

Good to know! I'll keep that in mind if I do go ahead with the purchase, and then when Im done with it it'll be nice to know it could do well.

it's one of those things that are impossible to find when you need one, but that turn up fairly often otherwise. A leather version with a wooden stick were a hot craft item at the same time.

Ive just gotten one of those leather ones but with a brass/bronze stick in a lot haha, I'll keep that too for a bit. I like a variety to have on hand.

I was trying to find a proper term for these devices. "Stick barrette" seemed to be fruitful in google searches.

Thanks 2many! Interesting name, but yes it does work!

The lot sold for 48e, not to me. It was a good price considering the other items but I'm in a position to be saving more than spending and with vide grenier season starting this week, I didn't think nearly 60e at the end of it was was wise. Hate to pass it up though, its a beauty!

Barrette will work in the USA, but it’s not a British or European term.
