A feathered friend for some info

Have had this for many years but have no real idea as to date or origin. Not sure of material..feels like cast ?bronze. Thank you for your input.

 

Is it a pincushion?

 

It's a pen wipe. Looks like cold painted bronze but would need better photos, probably Austrian.
Have you looked carefully for a mark? They can be tricky to spot on painted metal, especially if it's the B for Bergman.

 

I thought it was a pincushion from the material on the back but as I said ..really not sure. I will look for a mark when I get home. Apologies for the pictures..must get a good camera. thank you for input

 

Undoubtedly a pen wipe.

 

I've never seen a pen wipe before......unusual indeed !
