999 what's it fer?

    The 'goblets' are about 3" tall. The glass dishes are about 2-1/4" across. Looks like a Libbey L on the bottom of the glass inserts.

    Guess I haven't eaten at enough fancy-shmancy restaurants. All I can think of is for condiments.

    Could be open top salt cellars. I would think that anything soupy would need lids to prevent spillage.

    999 is pure fine silver. also used on official silver bars.
    means probably that pure silver was used for plating.

    Fine silver anodes would always be used in the plating bath...
