Featured 8" handmade glass bird... China??

This has a pontil, appears to have been handmade, but have to say my first thought was that it was Chinese rather than Italian. It was at the thrift, inexpensive but wanted to get a few more eyes on it. The glass in the tummy area has some extra pizazz, any chance this is Italian?

Also would I call this guy "a parrot?" Thanks!

I'm still thinking this is Chinese. It has sort of a cartoon-ish look which I wouldn't expect from Italy. Sits perfectly evenly, so the base is well done. But I'm guessing China.

I'm bringing a box of unsold items over to a consignment store tomorrow -- and just wondered if this should go. If I don't hear otherwise, thinking yes.
