    dear all

i have no idea what this is for. looks like a candle holder but 4 candles so close together? gold-plated on silver-plated bottom? looks like a tourist piece, where from? there appears to be a mark, SF with and O below it.

    regards

I think this is a dresser piece, designed to hold lipsticks on a vanity.

I think the SF 'O' is Sam Fink 'C' (for copyright),
Lots of very similar items on eBay attributed to him. Try searching vintage lipstick caddy, or Sam Fink dresser items.

Vanity piece. Lipsticks. Early 1960s. No glass inserts. Pieces in similar "ware" to be found on internet, including covers for hair spray cans.

Wouldn't the lipsticks fall through the holes in the bottom?

Holes on bottom are considerably smaller than top. Could have been mfg's. way of conserving material or a way to 'push up' a lipstick that may be stuck in caddy.

Read post 3 , 4 & 7......without the size....both AJ & I thought they were large enough to hold some type of glass ware.........
My post 9 & 11 show it being used with a lipstick.......had your 1st post come with the size ......both AJ & I would have responded differently.
