Each is ~1 1/8" long by ~3/8" in diameter; weight of all 3 is 2.3 grams. The knit is covering a hard center that isn't quite cylindrical, but the fabric is so tightly done that no view of the interior is possible. There are no loops or fittings that would allow easy attachment to a garment. Their color, jet black, suggests to me a funereal purpose, but that's a reach. The fabric covering is reminiscent of that used over glass smelling salts ampoules, but every one I've seen has been white, an' of a more durable thread to protect against broken-glass injury. What have I got here?
    Thanks for lookin'!
