This would have been a good deal, but I must have limits. Published at the end of the Revolutionary War, a copy in lesser condition sold for $1,200.

Seems to be an interesting book with lots of local history. There is a big difference though between Europese and U.S. prices. This book is even for sale for $4,500

I know your feeling! I have spent years trying to acquire things generally beyond my reach financially for a deal though I loved them dearly.

 

Sorry you missed out! But keep looking and you may find another. I only see one seller of this title online, at a much higher price than either of the ones you mentioned.

Figtree3, I managed to find three or four sold books, the above example being the nearest in condition.

KikoBlueEyes, the title was good enough for those actively searching for it, but was poorly pictured. I felt it a good gamble and was close.

Ex Libris, I felt this would be a strong seller due to being printed at the finish of the war, its inclusion of the Declaration of Independence, and a notation by its owner stating that he bought it in Philadelphia, Dec 26, 1789, for $8. I searched the name and he was a miller and land owner.
