20th century revolving drinks dispenser??

Discussion in 'Antique Discussion' started by Matthew Bunting, Nov 6, 2016.

  1. Hello,

I brought this item recently at auction, its obviously a drinks dispenser of some description however does anybody know how old or possibly who made it?

It seems to have some wear and age that would suggest to me that it is not a modern item, perhaps mid 20th century?

    Thanks
    Matt

Possibly as early as the 20s or as late as the 50s. I think it is probably a liquor decanter. I've not seen this before. No marks?

I think it is liqueur dispenser for Creme de Menthe, Creme de Cocoa and what? Triple Sec?

Art Deco for sure. Black enamel paint looks similar in style to Chase Chrome. Doesn't really fit the style of Krome Kraft.

This rings a bell. I think, if I remember, they're French and used for three different flavours of a related liqueur.

SIS, it's certainly along the same lines as the one Matthew posted.

I hate to be stupid, but how exactly do these things work? The ones with upside-down bottles, I can understand, but with the spigots on the bottom & the bottle openings at the top, how does the liquid come out?

The spigots are part of the bottles on this example.

Try putting hot water in each bottle and dropping in denture cleaning tablets. Let them sit overnight and clean them out. If you are lucky the cloudiness will go away. If not the glass may be permanently etched, it's called "sick glass" :inpain:
