I have 2 wall hangers with tiles in them. Each tile is 6" x 6" and each frame is 9 1/2" x 9 1/2". The back of the tile has 4 diamond patterns that sum together to make a diamond pattern. In the left middle diamond pattern on the back of the tile has 209, 500 Boizenburn BB, 2-54 on separate lines. In the right middle diamond pattern on the back of the tile has Made in Germany. I can not find anything on them and am not sure if its a wall hanger or a pot holder. Thank you for assistance in this item. Rob

One looks signed on front. Can you take a close up?

They look like somewhat abstract & collaged scenes of New York City. The second one looks like the Rockefeller Center skating rink with the sculpture of Prometheus & Christmas tree in the background:

I had so much fun skating there when I was younger. And in the summer when the rink is gone, they had or have a lovely outdoor restaurant. Memories.

And the first looks like Bethesda Fountain with a (vaguely) Central Park skyline.

The metal? frames look like they are designed to hold something. Not hangers presumably as they don't sit flat. But why [and what] would you put something in the frames and cover up the tiles???

I was thinking more like Washington Square Park & the arch, looking north to the Empire State Building. The fountain isn't urn-shaped like that now, maybe formerly? There's no building with a clock on the side anywhere near the Bethesda Fountain.

Oh, it could be City Hall Park.

Could there have been fabric stretched around the frame at some point?

I see what you are talking about. The buildings must have been substituted in for the trees.

I'd think 1950s too and they were poor things in their time.
