2 Very Small Asian Silver Cups; Can Anyone Make Out These Marks?

    Usually I can sort Chinese from Japanese...sometimes. But not now. Your help is desperately needed here. Thanks for lookin'!

    I think they're Chinese marks. But.. I can't read any Chinese or Japanese either.

    Part of my confusion is from not being comfortable with choosing a vertical orientation. I did choose, but am not sure up is correctly up.
