2 small bronze birds. Artists signature identification

Hi. I have these two bronze birds (some type of ducks or waterfowl). Both have the same signature or initials but I cant decipher it. They do seem old... corrosion, patina, square nut, wear on the base.

Can anyone tell me who they are by?

 

They almost look like some of the duck that over the years have disappeared from in Boston.....around the Duck Pond is it???? A few have disappeared at random times....never heard of them being returned either.....they're cute, and I don't know who the artist is on yours is...OR who the artist was on the ones in Boston!! And I'm thinking like AT LEAST 25 or so years ago!!! BUT, with your 'mouse' in the picture, I'm now thinking they must be too small for them to be the Boston ones!!!!!

 

Yes they are very small but thanks ill look into the boston ones and compare.

All my searches seem to direct me to Pierre-Jules Mêne or somebody in the same school as him but the signature does not seem to match his or the other sculptures listed as his peers at the time. Unless the signature is "PJ" the last letter could be J but the first does not look like a P to me.. And all his signatures that I can find picture examples of contain his full name anyways.. So dead end there.
