    I think newer but can't tell you the source. A lot of this kind of thing comes out of Indonesia but this doesn't look like their typical work.

    Thanks for the reply. The base and the inside are left just the way they were carved, no sanding. Maybe home made project.

    Kard, I don't know... It just reminds me too much of all that wooden stuff carried at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and the like... The drippy glue just adds to that impression.

    The TJ Maxx pieces come with drippy glue? Here the glue is from multiple repairs on the feet. Maybe you can't tell from the pics but the bowl is too rough on the inside, not very commercial look and a bit dangerous.
