    I have several cordials I need help with & hopefully someone will recognize the makers &/or patterns. :happy::happy::happy:
    I am going to put them in separate postings.
    None of them are marked of course. :p:p:p

    This one is 3 1/2" to the side edge & holds approximately 1 oz. It has 3 different scenes on the side with the Putti playing with a dog, a goose? & a swan. It is heavy quality crystal & obviously a lot of work with the fern like design behind the Puttis.

    Peggy, I'm not a glassie but to my uneducated eye, both look European. Have you searched on chatabout?

    Unless my eyes deceive me, all the flat areas have been cut and polished. the blue was a band of glass cased on then cut through. This reminds me of the wares of St. Louis, the French glass factory.

    I had not tried there, but will look into it.

    Your eyes are not deceiving you. There is a distinct ridge at the top & bottom of the area with the engraved? design with the gold Putties. I was trying to figure out last night if this was originally 3 layers of glass (clear, gold, blue) or if the gold was applied to the clear after it was cut. :confused::confused::confused:

    However it was done, the workmanship on this piece is phenomenal. I can not imagine the skill it would take to do the center design. :jawdrop::jawdrop:

    I have always thought that this was a European piece mostly because of the design. St. Louis was a thought but I have looked everywhere for a mark & can not find one. :(:(:(

    Thanks Pat & Tom!!! :happy::happy:

    The background, behind the gold appears to be an acid etching, the gold Was not applied as a layer but applied (possibly as gold leaf) subsequent to the etching. I'm not conversant with the gold application process. Yes, very labor intensive. As to the one with the hollow stem, I have a wine I've identified as Baccarat, with a similar stem, but Tiffin did that on pressed stems, too, so other clues must be found to ID that piece.

    Thanks again Tom!! :kiss::kiss:

    I guess they would have cut? the design into the scenes after applying the gold leaf. :confused::confused::confused:

    I will check out the other cordial. My first thought was Tiffin but could not find it in my Tiffin is Forever book. :):)
