It looks to be by the same artist and done on wooden panels. There’s also a name on the back of one of the frames .Any ideas? Anyone perhaps recognise the images? Possible age? The panels are 20x16cm in size. Many thanks for any comments

Those are in pretty rough condition. The one may depict Spanish muleteers. The other, with what appears to be umbrella pines, could be Spain too but looks more like a classical or Biblical scene. Hard to tell.

Many thanks Debora. Yes rough, they also need a clean. Looking at other Spanish paintings. Maybe colonial? Could they be 18th century? Any ideas as to the
    name or word?

Doesn't look Colonial to my eye. I'd think 19th century. And I can only read "El____".

Iam thinking quite possibly late 18th or early 19th century.. or Iam completely wrong?

The one looks to me like a mother protecting a child. If so, then maybe The Slaughter of the Innocents, or The Slaying of the First Born.

The photos are so dark I can’t see a baby amidst the women’s clothing. I see two women by what looks to be a cow, with a castle/tower in the background. Neither painting seems to convey a sense of urgency or stress, just what looks to me like (for lack of a better term) pastoral/“country life” scenes. They also appear Spanish to me.

No idea as to age. If someone said it was 1880s or 1930s both estimates would seem plausible to me. Where did you find them?

Can you take them to a local museum or fine art gallery? I say fine art because there are lots of galleries just showing the work of local artists and you won't find anyone who knows antiques. Or maybe an auction house that specializes in art.

You'd probably just be told "European School" and "19th c."

Thanks for the comment.Yes the picture is very dark/dirty. I also think it shows simple/ordinary country or farm life. Looks to be one women (possibly a servant)on her knees with a bag of something maybe feeding a cow while being instructed by another woman standing over her. Or maybe she is collecting/picking up something (the woman standing seems to be pointing)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

@Boland -- update this discussion if the auction house gives you information or opinions. I'm always interested in the art discussions.
