This was part of a shelf lot & I am hoping someone recognizes the siggie because the only thing I am sure of is the '86.:smuggrin:

I am not even totally sure that there was not something coming out of the neck portion. :p It is 3 3/8" to the top & is 3 across.

I do not know who made it but these were decorative pen/pencil holders. Very stylish in their day.

George - are you saying you would balance the pen on the top between those little knobs on top?

From your description and the photos I think I see a hole in the center top into which a pen or pencil could be put. If no hole then my comment is invalid.

Is that not a hole in the top ? I thought it a bottle missing the top.

My first thought was oil lamp, one that you would put a wick that is held in a glass "stopper"

This is not a hollow piece of glass that you could use as an oil lamp. It is totally solid & there is glass at the neck of the opening on top. That is why I thought there might actually be something that was broken off.

I was hoping someone would recognize the signature so I could find other pieces made by the artist to see if it is suppose to look like this or if it is a piece of broken glass.

It's a Perfume bottle minus the stopper.

I assure you that if you tried to put anything into the opening it will not go any farther than the neck because it is solid clear glass.

Nobody even want to hazard a guess at the signature? I ave tried several different versions but I keep striking out on Google. :(

    Guery....Guciy....Guicy...

    Can't tell if the last letter is a G or a Y.
The letter before it......A BLOB !
Is the dot over that one or the 3rd letter ...
G U is all I'm sure of ....cuz normally you leave an R from the top , not bottom.

    How's that for Hazzard !
