    billyd3us Thanks All my Friends

I bought this today from my friends parents. 4 years ago when i first met them, I told them that i liked the chaise lounge they had in their living room. Today my friend called me and said his parents want me to have the chaise. I went to pick it up and gave his parents $2, that's all they wanted, and said because I was a nice loving man.
I posted my score on facebook, and now I have people asking me to sell it to them. What shall I do, I need money but also love this piece. Is it called a chaise lounge, or what is it actually ? I can't find anything online like this.

    Thanks

    It looks so comfortable!

How nice of your friend's parents to want you to have it.

Can't help with a decision though.....

    Hi Billy,
It is indeed a chaise lounge. I had one filled with swans down. I got never ever sit in it and not fall right to sleep. I bought mine from Luba Potamkin, she was the wife of the huge Philadelphia Cadillac dealer. I ended up selling it when I moved into the tiny Co-Op in Brooklyn. I loved that chaise from 1972 to 1995. I swore if I ever found another one I would snatch it up in a second. That swans down was the THE most comfortable thing in the world.

Technically, it was originally called a chaise longe - or long chair, in France. Here, in the USA, it has morphed into a lounge.

And Greg, I once slept on a feather bed... Ah.........!

Your friend's parents wanted you to have it.
If you decide to sell it, you should ask them first if they mind, or want it back. (Explain how it came to be that you even thought of selling it). If they say sell it you should give them a portion of the sale. 30-50%.

Remember they are your friend's parents. You don't want to loose a friendship over money.

Personally, you liked it and wanted it. You're not going to find another. I would keep it.

Ok, here is my 2 cents. If you want to sell it as you need money, I would first inform the people who you bought it from of what you are thinking and find out if they are ok with it so that you can keep the friendship.
If they say, do whatever you wish with it, I say sell it. There are times in life when needing money is more important than a comfy cool piece of furniture.
Much good luck with your chair and your decision.
    :)

Thanks, I think I will keep it because I sat on it last night watching movies, very comfortable. I will sell only if the price is right but first I will ask my friends parents what they think.

Small point. It is a chaise LONGUE, not any of the other spellings. ;) That means long chair in the French lingo.

    MEA CULPA!

I can spell; I just can't type! Or, apparently, re-read.
